Spend the night in a one of a kind accommodation in the heart of San Marcos. El Destino, a recycled Guatemalan chicken bus with a 1976 VW Kombi van added to the roof as a second bedroom. The interior is a unique and warm space with a one of a kind bunk bed built from recycled Cayucos (traditional fishing canoes), a small living room area, kitchen and full bathroom. Our 2nd level is an old VW van turned into a cozy bedroom with a beautiful lake view. The space: El Destino sits on top of our 2nd hand store, CURIO: Notable Objects. Other things to note: Since El Destino is located above our store, CURIO. Upon arrival, enter the gate, and pass through the store on a direct path upwards, climbing 2 sets of stairs. The store closes at 5pm, but you'll have a self-contained, clearly marked, and well-lit entrance to arrive at any time.
We are a small, family owned business, providing a cozy and unique space in the heart of San Marcos.
The town of San Marcos is a vibrant, up and coming town in rural Guatemala with a strong Mayan and Foreign local community.
