Renvyle, Connemara, Co Galway. Renvyle is an area in north Connemara and is surrounded on three sides by the Atlantic Ocean. It contains the villages of Tully and Tully Cross and welcomes large numbers of tourists each year. Renvyle peninsula is dominated by Letter Hill (also known as Tully Mountain) which is 356m high. The Twelve Bens Mountains are also visible, as is Mweelrea, the largest mountain in Connacht. The area is well known for its wonderful beaches, such as Lettergesh beach, Glassilaun beach and the While Strand beach. Close by is the Connemara National Park and Kylemore Abbey. The area is rich in nature with its many trails and roads to wander, its rivers and lakes to fish, its forests to explore and its many secluded beaches to enjoy. The village of Letterfrack village is also close by, Letterfrack is a small bustling village located beside the ocean, overlooked by the majestic Diamond Hill. The Connemara National Park is accessible from Letterfrack and here you will find many ways of enjoying the unique Connemara countryside through guided walks and activities, including children’s activities such as bird watching, ponding, arts and crafts and nature trails. The park covers over 2,000 hectares of rugged mountains, bogs, heaths, and forests, and is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including native Irish animals such as red deer, Connemara ponies, and Irish hares. In addition to its natural attractions, Letterfrack is also known for its vibrant arts scene, with many artists and craftspeople working in the area.
