Hi, I'm Claire, your host! I live right here beside the hut, in our home on the edge of the meadow, so you'll always have a friendly face nearby if you need anything. I've always loved Connemara, and I created the hut to share that same sense of peace and escape with guests looking to slow down and unwind. I'm happy to help however I can, whether it's tips on the best local walks, a recommendation for a good pub, café and beach, or just pointing you toward the prettiest spot to watch the sunset. Connemara is a wild, rugged stretch of west County Galway where mountains, bog, lakes, and Atlantic coastline all tumble together. Unspoiled beauty and dramatic scenery. Must-see spots 🏰 Kylemore Abbey — a fairytale Victorian castle on a lake, with beautiful walled gardens. Probably Connemara's most iconic sight. ⛰️ Connemara National Park & Diamond Hill — fantastic walking, with a rewarding climb up Diamond Hill for sweeping views. 🏔️ The Twelve Bens (Na Beanna Beola) — a striking mountain range that defines the skyline. 🚗 Sky Road (Clifden) — a stunning coastal loop drive with jaw-dropping ocean views. 🌊 Killary Fjord — Ireland's only true fjord, gorgeous by boat or from the shore. 🏖️ Beaches — Dog's Bay and Gurteen Bay near Roundstone have soft white sand and turquoise water (yes, really!). Coral Strand is another beauty.
