Hi, I live here at Arabaer with my husband Saevar and our six young children. Arabaer is a busy working farm where we train, breed and sell Icelandic horses. We also farm vegetables including turnips and carrots, this keeps us all busy! I am originally from Scotland and have travelled, lived and worked abroad in several places including New Zealand and Holland before settling in Iceland around 13 years ago. My husband Saevar is Icelandic and grew up around here, we run the business together and enjoy our busy lifestyle with the farm, children, and various pets ;-) We speak English and Icelandic here on the farm. We are more than happy to assist guests in any way. We want you to have the best possible stay and hopefully can help in doing that.

Beautiful new cabin in the wilderness! The cabin is one of 2 which are located next to the banks of the river þjórsá just 26km from the town selfoss and 16km from stokkseyri. With birds, seals and wildlife in abundance in unspoiled surroundings. There are breathtaking views of mountains, volcanos, glaciers and gentle walks along the banks of the river. Its an amazingly peaceful area to spend some time relaxing, but all while being an excellent location for hitting the sites of South Iceland

The Cabin is very private. With out a lot of light pollution surrounding us making us ideal for northern lights season for great viewing ( bearing in mind the lights are actually out!) We are 16km from the small village stokkseyri, 26km from the big town selfoss and just 81km from Reykjavík. we are also perfectly located to visit a number pf attractions, all within an hrs drive, these include the new volcano, Fagradalsfjall, The famous golden circle, brilliant hiking to the nautural hot river in Reykjadalur and to the east the waterfall seljandsfoss. These are just to name a few. The road to the house is partly paved and partly gravel road. we always make sure you have the correct location before your day of check in . It is pretty much necessary to have a car when staying with us. plenty of parking space in front of the house.
