Hvammur Farm has been settled since 1187 and the current business has been in operation since summer 2022.

Hvammsvík Nature Resort and Hot Springs is a unique collection of recently renovated luxury lodges and farm buildings located on a large gated and private estate along the coast in Hvalfjordur just 45min from downtown Reykjavik. On site you will find 12 buildings rented out for overnight stays, a common games room and gym and our renowned Hvammsvík Hot Springs. The Hot Springs are open to the public and need to be booked separately. There you will also find Stormur, our Bistro & Bar which serves light meals including our famous seafood soup and open sandwiches. Hvammur Farm is a historical farm that was first recorded in Landnáma, the Icelandic book of settlers dating back to the 9th century. During WWII the allied forces both the British and US Navy settled on the property and had their Naval Headquarters on the site. In fact The Hilltop House was given the code name Falcon Crest by the Americans during the war in order not to reveal its real location. When Churchill came to Iceland in 1941 him and Theodor Rosevelt Jr conducted a meeting here. More recently scenes in Game of Thrones where recorded in Hvammur. No wonder given the incredible scenery and natural beauty of the sight. Guests will enjoy unspoiled nature and wildlife. In particular there is a wide range of birds in the area, over 30 to be precise. If you are lucky you will spot the Arctic Fox running around, completely harmless but hard to spot as it changes color based on the seasons. Hvammur is a perfect base for enjoying the incredible nature all around you.
