I was born in Pompei and have lived all my life here. I like to move around with my bike and to produce jams, yoghurt, cakes, floral compositions and so forth. I have always enjoyed getting creative with those little unassuming things that everyone else would just pass over or send to the trash bin. I will be happy to show you my creations! :)

'Otium' [o-zèe-um]: Latin for 'leisure', 'relax' as opposed to 'Negotium' (from which the modern English 'neg-otiate' in the sense of negation of leisure, the shabby hustle&bustle of life). Otium was a cardinal principle in the lives of well-mannered Romans and especially prominent in the life of the ancient Pompeii. In line with the name I chose for my guesthouse, I strive to offer clients a sojourn of grateful quietness and resting from habitual stress. A prevailingly Mediterrenean garden, constantly evolving and emphasizing spontaneity and biodiversity (with plants of the most diverse kinds and at least one from each of the five continents!); old wood rescued from nearby beaches, recycled objects that are borne anew in unexpected ways: these are some of the things to be enjoyed here. Parking suggested at a private parking spot 400mt away from us (in-advance booking needed). *** Please note: NEVER book our place for groups of more than 10 people! Because of a website error on Booking, it is technically possible to book the entire house PLUS the single rooms inside of it for as many as 25 people, but this is obviously illogical and practically impossible and if it happens then you and I have to come to a solution that will likely take up lots of time.

We are in a quiet lateral alley of one of the main streets of the city, a mere 5 minute walk from the main square and 10 minutes from the main Ruins' entrance (Bonus: as the crow flies we're just 100 mt away from the famous Amphiteatre!). All in all our location strikes a perfect balance between clean air and quietness, and being right there in the middle of Pompei.
