The Antico Episcopio is located in the center of the Amalfi Coast, in the heart of the ancient medieval village of Pontone, a small hamlet of the municipality of Scala, the first Roman settlement on the coast. Pontone, although very close to Amalfi and Ravello, has a particular magic, quiet and refined, it gives a breathtaking view of the sea. We took over the management of this facility in January 2022. We were immediately enraptured and fell in love with the cozy atmosphere of the rooms, the breathtaking view and its history. With dedication, kindness and professionalism we are ready to welcome all customers who want to stay here with us, helping you to discover and get to know the Amalfi Coast. Here time seems to have stood still: the bell towers, medieval buildings and churches have never changed over the centuries, just as the peaceful atmosphere of this coastal resort has remained intact. The Antico Episcopio was the first and only residence of the bishops of the diocese of Scala, who were captivated by the breathtaking view and the atmosphere of other times that still attract visitors from all over the world. The building was completely renovated in 2010 by local architect Anna Fimiani, who has restored it to its former glory. We do not have parking but for all customers who intend to reach us with their own car we inform you that you can choose between two options at the time of booking - Possibility to use municipal seats with payment of ticket or daily pass or the possibility of - book a place in private parking for a fee, if available, We kindly ask you to let us know at the time of booking what kind of solution you prefer. Our check-in starts at 15.00 and ends at 19.00, after this time a late check-in penalty of 50 euros will be charged, after 20:00 you will no longer be able to enter the structure. All requests in this regard must be approved by the staff. We are located a few steps from the main square of Pontone. The main square of Pontone is elevated from the state road. There are 2 streets that lead to the main square and you have to look for directions to the center It is not possible to get to Piazza San Giovanni by car only on foot From the main square of Pontone (Piazza San Giovanni) take the stairs that go up near the "blue bar" in the direction of the church of San Filippo Neri. After about 35 steps you will find the gate of L'Antico Episcopio
