My name is Diego. The host activity that I carry out with my daughter Elisa and the staff of our restaurant "Il Fornello" means for me the rebirth of a tradition. In fact, by renovating Casa Chiocconi in 2019, I tried to bring to new life the ancient inn of my grandparents, who greatly influenced my childhood. Today I believe I offer good hospitality, which combines accommodation with a historic kitchen, in a place where traffic, noise and pollution cannot reach. Casa Chiocconi is a refuge from which to look more lightly at things, people and the landscape that promises, beyond the Apennine mountains, the infinite sea.

Property info

Casa Chiocconi is an ancient Farm House, single-family, on two floors and a basement, which dates back to the early 18th century. It has always been the home of the Chiocconi-Drovandi family. In the basement there is the restaurant Il Fornello, still owned, managed by the Gemma family. Around the building there is an area of about 3000 square metres, with lawn, paved terrace and grass soccer field. It is possible to park in this area or directly on the street. a renovation was complited in 2019 to transform the first floor into a guest house with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The Guest floor is completely both in the structures and in the systems (solar panels, air conditioning, free wi-fi in each room), bathrooms have marble sink tops and the showers are very large. Guests will have an entrance veranda, reception and 4 rooms. Finally, why come to Casa Chiocconi? -The structure, in its antiquity, is brand new. -It has a restaurant downstairs always active. -It has a vaste an articulated private area. We will do our best not to disappoint.

Casa Chiocconi is located at about 300 meters above sea level in Fornello, a tiny village in the Val di Vara, a quiet and hidden hinterland of La Spezia. The Val di Vara takes its name from the river that crosses it and is considered one of the least polluted in Italy. At 3 km from the village, at the "Brooklyn Bridge" there is a small swimming bay where Casa Chiocconi maneges a kiosk for the sale of cooked food and drinks. However for the visitor looking for more significant places here are some indications: Within a distance of 20/30 km you can reach: - Le 5 Terre, heither by car from Fornello or from La Spezia by train. - La Spezia Center and all its gulf, between Lerici and Portovenere. - The coast of Versilia, from Bocca di Magra to Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio. - The Apuan Alps, with its Carrara marble quarries. - Shopping Center both in Brugnato (Shopinn) and in La Spezia (Le Terrazze). At a distance of less than 100 km, various cities of art can be visited: - Pisa (90 km), - Genoa (90 km), - Lucca (90 km), - Parma (100 km).
