Casale Nostos is the first Passive House built amidst the spectacular Mediterranean landscape of the Sorrento Coast. With breathtaking views of the sea and nestled within a 3,000 m² olive grove, Casale Nostos offers a unique hospitality experience entirely focused on attention, care, and the well-being of our guests. The house is our family’s heartfelt attempt to bring together energy sustainability, architecture, and landscape. The project was guided by two main goals: on the one hand, to pay tribute to the local area and its architectural heritage; on the other, to seek a deep sense of unity and integration between tradition and the new standards of energy sustainability promoted by the Passive House principles. The renovation project centered on the “Passivhaus” (Passive House) building technique, intended to make Casale Nostos not only the very first Passive House in the area, but alsoan icon of sustainability architecture and comfort. The property also features an infinity pool overlooking the sea of the Sorrento Peninsula. The pool, too, was designed with a strong focus on water quality and energy efficiency. We integrated medium-pressure UV lamps into the filtration system, which not only reduce combined chlorine but also provide effective disinfection by eliminating chlorine-resistant bacteria.

In the heart of the Sorrento Peninsula, between Sorrento and Punta Campanella, Massa Lubrense and Positano, Casale Nostos was born from the desire to create a refuge—a place of mindfulness and attention to life’s small details, nestled in the Mediterranean countryside and far from the pace of urban living. Casale Nostos is composed of two fluid and integrated yet completely independent architectural volumes. These are complemented by a private parking area—with an electric vehicle charging station—two outdoor patios, and a sun terrace with a pool. Casale Nostos is the first hospitality structure in the Campania region to receive Passive House energy certification. This eco-sustainable living model makes use of natural resources and significantly reduces CO₂ emissions. The interiors of the Casale Nostos are characterized by an absolute reduction, seeking our personal connection between practicality, function, and beauty. The rooms reveal a discreet elegance made of natural materials and high-quality design details. The walls, coated in natural clay, enhance and envelop the space with their soft and natural texture. The built-in wardrobes, made of natural oak wood, bring a sense of fluidity and lightness to the environment. The interior oak wood parquet blends seamlessly with the stone flooring of the private outdoor terrace, unifying the spaces and offering the guest different areas of relax while maintaining the intimacy of their own home. In the bathrooms, everything is custom designed to offer an experience of comfort and functionality. The floor-level shower discreetly integrates into the space. The transparent glass amplifies the light, allowing the materials to remain the focal point. The furniture, made from high-quality materials, perfectly integrates with the design cladding by Patricia Urquiola, creating a sense of visual harmony.

Casale Nostos lies few minutes walking from the small and charming village of Sant’Agata. In the village guests would find as many public and private services you might need as restaurants, pharmacy, bars, pub, disco bar, postal office, supermarket, among the others. The village of Sant’Agata is located in a strategic and compelling position as a way to reach the wonderful villages of Sorrento (12 km), Amalfi (30 km), Positano (17 km), Massa Lubrense (6 km). The islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida are easily reachable with both starting from Sorrento, Massa Lubrense or Nerano. Places of historical and cultural relevance as Pompei, Ercolano and the National Park of the Vesuvio are infrastructurally connected by the train Circumvesuviana which start from Sorrento or Napoli; or they might be reach easily by car from the villa (34 km to Pompei and 47 to Ercolano). Additionally, from the villa, in a few minutes by car, you would enjoy of the crystal-clear beach of Marina del Cantone, Crapolla, Baia di Ieranto and Roccomone bay among others. Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi represents also a perfect spot for trekking and naturalistic walking lovers.
