Odeon Neapolis is a unique place where the millennia-old history of Naples meets contemporary comfort and luxury. The property stands on the ancient Odeon Neapolis — a small covered Roman theatre — an extraordinary archaeological site that guests can admire directly from their rooms, thanks to the exposed brickwork of the perfectly preserved original ruins. Every space has been designed with great attention to detail, fully respecting historical authenticity while integrating modern technology. The rooms feature smart automated lighting, state-of-the-art air conditioning, in-room bathtub, immersive showers with waterfall system and chromotherapy, and all the comforts of a high-end property. Printed frescoes and refined furnishings create an evocative atmosphere, taking guests on a journey through the centuries. Impeccable cleanliness is a fundamental standard: every detail is attended to daily to ensure a flawless stay. During the restoration works, what began as faint traces led to an exceptional discovery: imposing stratified walls in opus latericium from the Odeon Theatre (1st–2nd century AD), alongside the powerful Angevin medieval structures of the 13th–14th centuries. An intact archaeological layering of more than two thousand years, studied centimetre by centimetre with the support of the Archaeological Superintendency and specialised archaeologists. The significance of the find was such that the official archaeological map of ancient Neapolis had to be updated twice. Located in the heart of the historic centre, just steps from Via dei Tribunali, San Gregorio Armeno and Spaccanapoli, Odeon Neapolis allows you to explore Naples entirely on foot. The metro is only two minutes away, with fast connections to the central station, port and airport. For those arriving by car: limited traffic zone (ZTL) 9–17, secure garages a few minutes away on foot; information on request. Odeon Neapolis is not just accommodation, it is an authentic and unforgettable experience.
Hi, we're Salvatore and Antonio Tranchini, two Neapolitan brothers and the custodians of an archaeological treasure that has helped rewrite the ancient history of Naples. It all began during renovation work on our family building, in the very heart of the ancient decumani. At first, there were only faint traces, but as we dug deeper, the unthinkable happened: entire, imposing walls emerged — perfectly preserved Roman brickwork in opus latericium from the Odeon Theatre (1st–2nd century AD), alongside powerful Angevin medieval walls dating back to the 13th–14th centuries. An intact archaeological layering spanning more than 2,000 years, right inside our home. With the support of the Archaeological Superintendency and professional archaeologists, every centimetre was carefully studied. The discovery was so significant that the official archaeological map of ancient Neapolis was updated twice. We could hardly believe it: we were reshaping the topography of Naples' Roman theatre. From that moment on, a years-long programme of conservative restoration began, carried out with passion and strict scientific rigour. Every brick was cleaned, stabilised and enhanced. We then faced a choice: keep this extraordinary heritage to ourselves, or share it with the world? That is how Odeon Neapolis Historic Luxury Residence was born, where ancient walls are a living part of the spaces, along with the cultural association Odeon Neapolis APS, created to organise guided tours, cultural events and conferences dedicated to ancient Naples. Our professional background lies in strategic consulting for SMEs through the Tranchini Strategic Consulting Studio. But here, our mission is different: we want every guest to enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind experience, sleeping within 2,000 years of history. We guide you through the UNESCO-listed historic centre with authentic archaeological itineraries, recommend the places where real Neapolitans eat, and share stories and secrets only locals know.
The San Lorenzo district, where Odeon Neapolis is located, is one of the most authentic and fascinating areas of Naples: we are in the very heart of the UNESCO historic centre, between Via Anticaglia and Via dei Tribunali (Spaccanapoli), where the ancient city is experienced step by step. Guests appreciate being able to reach the city's main archaeological and artistic treasures on foot: Naples Underground (about 2 minutes) Sansevero Chapel – Veiled Christ (about 7 minutes) San Domenico Maggiore (about 5 minutes) Naples Cathedral – Treasure of San Gennaro (about 8 minutes) National Archaeological Museum – MANN (about 12 minutes) Piazza Bellini, the city's cultural and literary heart (about 5 minutes) Pio Monte della Misericordia, home to Caravaggio's Seven Works of Mercy (about 6 minutes) Via San Gregorio Armeno, the famous street of nativity scenes (about 4 minutes) Via dei Tribunali is also one of the most beloved gastronomic spots: historic pizzerias, traditional fry shops, century-old pastry shops and small venues frequented by locals. By day the atmosphere is lively and cultural, in the evening pleasant and animated, without excess. The neighbourhood is well-lit, lived in all year round and considered safe, inhabited by Neapolitan families and university students. Pharmacies, supermarkets, bakeries and essential services are all 2–3 minutes' walk away. Excellent transport links as well: Metro L1 Dante: about 10 minutes on foot Metro L1 Museo: about 12 minutes Metro L2 Cavour: about 12 minutes Central Station: about 8 minutes by metro Molo Beverello Port (Capri, Ischia, Procida): about 20 minutes by taxi Naples Airport: about 25 minutes by taxi or Alibus + metro Main bus lines (C63, 151, 201, R2) on Via Duomo Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) 9–17. Secure garages a few minutes away, info on request. We also offer a paid 24h transfer service on request. Staying here means experiencing the most archaeological, layered and authentic side of Naples, just steps away.
