Palazzo della Storia is located in the heart of Amalfi's historic centre, one of the most iconic destinations on the UNESCO-listed Amalfi Coast. Within a short walk, guests can explore the magnificent Cathedral of St. Andrew, the Cloister of Paradise, the Paper Museum and the Ancient Arsenal of the Maritime Republic. Amalfi's beach, picturesque waterfront and ferry harbour, with regular connections to Positano, Capri, Sorrento, Ischia and Salerno, are all easily accessible on foot. The neighbourhood is filled with traditional restaurants, elegant wine bars, historic cafés, artisan boutiques and local shops selling handmade ceramics, limoncello and regional specialties. From Piazza Flavio Gioia, the villa can be reached by climbing approximately 300 steps. Alternatively, guests may use the public panoramic elevator, operating daily from 8:00 AM until midnight (subject to a fee), followed by approximately 60 additional steps leading to the property. Please note that this elevator is a public service owned and managed by the Municipality of Amalfi. Its operation, maintenance and any unexpected interruptions are entirely outside the control of Palazzo della Storia. While it is generally available every day, the property cannot guarantee its operation nor accept responsibility for any temporary suspension of the service. Important Information for the 2026 Season For the 2026 season, the public elevator closest to Palazzo della Storia is temporarily out of service due to technical maintenance. Guests can comfortably reach the property by using an alternative public elevator, located a short distance from Piazza Flavio Gioia, followed by approximately 150 steps leading to the villa. To ensure a smooth arrival and departure, complimentary porter service is included, allowing guests to enjoy the experience without worrying about their luggage.
