Company info

For many years, the farm was run by the Messner family as a sideline with dairy farming and vegetable growing. In 2007 they switched to fruit growing and in 2022 they built apartments for farm holidays. Today, not only apple orchards and woodland, but also numerous domestic animals and a richly stocked garden are part of everyday life on the farm. Goats and hens enliven the farm and cats Milo and Luì with Bernese mountain dog Sammy watch over everyone. Guests have access to a beautiful lawn for sunbathing, a pool for refreshment (only in the summer months) and for the little ones there is a playground with swings, slide, trampoline and sandpit.

The Plattnerhof Viums is truly located in the heart of South Tyrol and offers the perfect starting point for countless excursion destinations at any time of year. Apart from the numerous hiking opportunities, there is also plenty to discover culturally in the immediate vicinity of Viums. The historic centre of Bressanone with the cathedral and its wonderful art treasures is well worth a visit, as are the Neustift monastery, Rodeneck Castle and the Franzensfeste fortress with its diverse exhibitions and events. For water lovers of all ages, the Varna natural swimming lake with its neighbouring biotope and numerous outdoor pools, such as those in Brixen and Mühlbach, offer the perfect conditions for a refreshing dip. The brave can venture onto the walls of the "Vertikale" climbing centre in Brixen and spend a fun-filled day with magnesium on their hands.
