Tenuta del Gelso is located at the feet of mount Etna, in the entrance of Catania and only 10 minutes away from the airport Fontanarossa or from the beach of the city. Tenuta del Gelso is 65 hectares, cultivated mainly with citrus fruits but also olives, wheat and vegetables like artichokes. In the heart of the farm there is an old rural house from 1810 of the senator Carnazza Amari, notable forefather of the family. In front of he garden, full of Mediterranean flora, there is the “palmento”, and old structure used for the transformation of grape into wine. This palmento is one of the biggest and oldest of the area, still perfect in every part and symbol of the ancient wine-producing tradition of the family. The farm house is surrounded by large green spaces where our guests can lie down and relax while tasting our products. The main activities of the company are dedicated to ecotourism, for example “Orange Plantation” gives our guests the possibility to be in direct contact with our plantation, our tradition and our history. These “routes” can be directly in English or in Franch language. The establishment has a large parking lot.
