Located at 1,910 meters above sea level, this mountain lodge can be more than just a pit stop. There are different types of rooms where one can stay and we choose the one with a private bathroom and a terrace. It was very comfortable, cozy and clean. We even had all the amenities by which I was honestly surprise. After our evening arrival we enjoyed locally produced wine and dinner and then we could soak up the views of Catania being lighten up below us. The next morning started by waking up to incredibly beautiful sunrise. We enjoyed our breakfast, fueled up the energy before kicking off this hike. Whether you decide to stay overnight here or come in the morning, your trip to MOUNT ETNA starts here at ETNA SOUTH. From Rifugio Sapienza, we took the cable car that whisks you up to 2,500 meters. It’s like entering another world – the lush greenery gives way to vast fields of black lava rock.

Location was excellent, near Etna volcano. Facilities were great, super clean and modern. Place was very quiet and breakfast was excellent. The spa is amazing with a salted pool. Sebastiano was such a great host, he took time to show us the facilities. We were lucky to meet the owner at the facility. Did some dinner recommendations and we ended going to his number one spot which was amazing, very typical Sicilian cuisine. Did we mentioned that Sebastiano was great? He was.

The hotel was amazing the view's were spectacular the staff were incredible went to any length to help us we will definitely be back in the near future. Lovely peaceful location great view's of mount Etna lovely comfortable bed great room x

They went above and beyond to help. Even though the restaurant was closed, they cooked me a dinner anyway. And the next day, they gave me a ride to my destination even if it only was a 10 min walk, just because they thought I might be late (I was not, just right on time). This place should be at least 4 stars hotel

The hotel is amazing ! The decoration & the furniture are well chosen to make you feel in a relax environment. The breakfast is delicious, homemade and with a large variety of local food The staff is really helpful and dedicated.

We'd stayed in many different hotels and homes before a last night in Catania. We chose this hotel because of its short distance to the airport. (However, beware of AM traffic.) Anyway, the room was highly practical and well arranged. Lighting was good, bathroom good. Seating good. Bed excellent and lovely sheets and pillows. A+++. So nice to have double sheets and full cover instead of separate duvets as we often found. Everything was super clean. Space was bright throughout and well-designed.
