In the last few years of the 19th Century one of the mythical builders of the Suez Canal chose the most moving location to build his villa to be as close to Paradise as he could imagine. Ercole Venegoni, in 1908 was looking for a house for his family's holidays when he saw the villa and he immediately fell in love with it. He bought it and spent his whole life taking care of the place So did the generations who came after him.Hence my choice of sharing this corner of Paradise with my guests, for I wish to give them a chance to fall in love. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway and wish to enjoy moments of leisure in a beautiful garden, or you're willing to get lost in the amazing view of the lake, the surrounding hills , Venegoni Maison de Charme is the place you were looking for. The 18th Century villa has been wisely refurbished by Architect Tallachini with the intention of providing an up-to-date comfort to the building without renouncing to its ancient charme. The villa overlooks Lake Maggiore and it is surrounded by a centuries-old park. Five separate apartments are now at the guests' disposal, so that they may all feel at home amid the silence of the park.

Neighborhood info

Venegoni Maison de Charme was deliberately located on the hills between the city of Verbania and the town of Ghiffa: it is therefore close to all the places of interest our guests may wish to see in the Western shore of the lake. Verbania and the botanic gardens in Villa Taranto are within a few minutes distance; moreover, a handful of kilometres separate the Maison from places such as Stresa, Cannero and its castles, Cannobio, Mergozzo and Orta San Giulio. Furthermore, the Sacred Mountain of Ghiffa and its park, featuring marvellous walking and biking routes, are located next to the Maison. Last but certainly not least, the Val Grande National Park, the largest wilderness area in Italy, featuring its breathtaking trekking routes, is situated but a few kilometres away.
