The house is immersed in the green of the hills of Montemaderno only 3km from Lake Garda. It is on 3 levels with a fenced garden and a large terrace with lake views. This listing is for the ground and first floor. All rooms on the FIRST FLOOR are AIR CONDITIONED while all rooms on the ground floor have ceiling fans. The whole house has central heating. The attic on the third floor is occasionally used by family or friends who will access the attic through the shared internal staircase

We have lived in Brisbane Australia since 1998. We feel very lucky to be able to enjoy the striking beauty of the Australian landscape as well as the more gentle beauty of Lake Garda and its surrounding. We love nature, camping and bush walking (when we are in Italy we never miss a hike to Mt. Pizzoccolo).

The house is ideal for a relaxing family break away. Step outside and the hills provides immediate access to trekking, bush walking and mountain biking with breathtaking views over the Lake and the surrounding mountains. If you are fit you should consider hiking up to Monte Pizzoccolo (the big mountain behind the house). From its peaks (1518mt) the view of the lake and the alps is breathtaking. Maderno with its beaches is only 3 km away providing the perfect base for Lake excursion by ferry or sailing boat. In Toscolano-Maderno the main attractions are: the Valle delle Cartiere and its museum (a must do), the remains of the Roman Villa Nonii Arrii, the churches of S. Andrea (in Maderno) and SS. Pietro e Paolo (in Toscolano). Within 5 km you can visit Gardone Riviera with the Vittoriale (home of poet Gabriele D’ Annunzio) and the Heller Botanical Gardens. Salò with its Duomo, the beautiful walk around the gulf and the colourful Saturday market. Gargnano, Villa and Bogliacco with their unique limonaie and special atmosphere. From Muslone (just above Gargnano) to Piovere there is a beautiful and relatively easy walking track (2 hours return). From Sasso (up the mountain 15 Km above Gargnano) we recommend the breathtaking walk to the Eremo of S. Valentino (CAUTION: THE TRACK IS STEEP WITH LITTLE PROTECTION AND IS RECOMMENDED FOR FIT PEOPLE ONLY). Continuing from Sasso up the Valvestino you can drive up to Cima Rest with its ancient beech forests and historical “fienili”. Other places worth exploring are Tignale with the Sanctuary of Monte Castello and Tremosine accessible via the spectacular “strada della forra” both places with breathtaking views. On the South side of Maderno you could visit the Valtenesi and its wineries. Its central location makes Maderno an ideal base for day trips to Verona, Bergamo, Mantova, Trento, Lake Iseo and many other amazing places.
