At Arai, we hope you can relax and enjoy a peaceful stay while fully experiencing the unique atmosphere of Takayama, with its beautifully preserved old town. Arai is a 66-year-old traditional house. The first floor has been renovated with comfort and ease of living in mind, and the second floor has recently been newly refurbished so that you can enjoy a pleasant and comfortable stay. The second floor has three separate bedrooms, making it suitable and reassuring for stays by up to three families. We have furnished the house with Hida furniture, including tables and sofas, as well as traditional crafts such as Shunkei lacquerware.
