The amount of bedrooms and bathrooms was great for our combined family of 10. The Sauna and onsen were wonderful to use everyday. Really liked the Nespresso machine and the kitchen. The location was pretty close to everything.

Company info

James House is operated by Nozawa Hospitality, the largest hotel operator in Nozawaonsen. Throughout your stay, you will have access to their concierge services. We aim to offer you a wonderful Japanese experience, at the right price, for your winter holiday. Nozawa Onsen is unique in Japan, and one of the most special places we know anywhere. Our vision is to share this, carefully, with guests who understand our passion. We are humbled to be part of this thriving, strong, active mountain community. We respect its history and admire its sense of carefully directed progress. We are excited to show visitors the integrated blend of mountains, culture, food, water, and cooperation that is Nozawa Onsen’s heritage. We will strive to invest in tourism that contributes to the village’s well-being and becomes an integral part of it. We expect that while the village may change its visitors, the visitors will not change the village.

Property info

James House consists of a 4-bedroom house (Carabrook) & a 1-bedroom apartment (Allenbrook), each with its own private entrances in a tranquil setting with views of farm land, and the mountain ranges in the distance. James House is only a 5 minute walk to the Karasawa ski area, the town centre, and to the Nakao bus stop. Parking is available nearby at Karasawa Parking. Carabrook A cozy family-friendly house, with books and toys for children and a well-equipped kitchen. Carabrook also comes with a drying room, convenient for airing and storing ski gear. There are 3 twin bedrooms and 1 room large enough for 6 people. The bedding is Japanese-style futons. One of the twin bedrooms includes an ensuite toilet. On the ground floor, there's a traditional Japanese hot bath, 2 common toilets and a standing shower. Allenbrook Newly renovated in 2023, Allenbrook is one-bedroom apartment for 4-5 guests, next to Carabrook. The apartment comes with a double and single bed, an ensuite toilet and shower and comes furnished with a 3 seater sofa, reading chair with foot stool, natural fiber rug, and a comfortable sitting area as well as a Nespresso coffee maker. There is no car access during winter.

Neighborhood info

Traditional quaint Japanese village with fantastic snow (up to 12 meters/year!) and plenty of public onsens to enjoy at the end of a long day on the slopes. The locals are really friendly and the town is beautiful. And as an extra bonus, Nozawa was the host of the 1998 Winter Olympics! During the summer, the gondolas open for mountain biking activities.
