My partner, Martin, and myself have been hosting guests at Casa Poesía since 2011. We are an international couple, who because of this, are able hosts serving a world community of travelers. We have strong ties to four countries and consider ourselves "citizens of the world." As travelers ourselves we understand the needs of travelers and when we travel, travel as Airbnb guests. We have a great appreciation for our guests, as we know and understand both experiences. Whether we are on the premises - to interact with and enjoy our guests - or if we are traveling, year round we provide good, caring and professional service from ourselves and our dedicated staff who are also frequently on-site and available. Both Martin and I are active/working poets, with me also a fine artist (painter), working on our various arts-related projects and businesses. We have family and friends all over the world - in Mexico, the UK, US, Spain, Canada, France, Greece, Portugal, Ireland - and a distinct and deep passion for each of these "our" countries and cultures. We are kind and personable people who enjoy the lively exchange of ideas and engaging discussions on all topics or, alternately, silence is also good. Other passions are nature, long walks, philosophy, good food, GOOD FRIENDS, music and dancing. Our strong belief is that there are more similarities and connections between people than differences. We appreciate a good sense of humor, a positive and open outlook, flexibility, reasonableness and going with the flow. Each travel experience has the ability to only strengthen the bond between us all. We strongly believe that travel is the universal teacher and the universal equalizer.
The property is very close the Punta Sayulita Road, which leads to 3-4 of the area's most stunning secluded beaches, also the back way into town vis a vis Playa de los Muertos. The ocean is over near by. It's a 15 minute walk to the Plaza. Formerly a ranchero, the property is now flanked by an exclusive resort to the south and the access road which leads to an upscale development. It still retains the charm of its origins with many trees, green space and birds.
The property is at the intersection of two deep valleys and is an area visited by many birds. There is almost always a cooling breeze and there are many fruit and flowering trees. Crowing roosters either add to the charm or occasionally annoy, but are part of the natural ambiance.
Birds, native to the area, flock to nearby trees throughout the day and into the early evening, also creating ambient sound. This is a natural birdwatcher's paradise. In season, a constant array of multicolored butterflies completes the daily "nature show." The comical Chachalacas (related to the wild Turkey) and in-coming flocks of the sweet but noisy Pericos (green wild parakeets) will keep you charmed and entertained.
Enjoy Sayulita's fine restaurants, unique jewelry made by local artisans, colorful boutiques, lively nightlife with live music, horseback, snorkeling, fishing, boating and hiking tours and activities. It’s a mere 30-45 -minute (depending on traffic) drive south to Puerto Vallarta and/or equidistant to areas of interest to the north along the Riviera Nayarit coast.
Depending on how fast you walk, it's a 15-20 minute walk to the town Plaza and principle beach. Small tiendas/markets to buy necessities such as eggs, bread and beer are much closer and on the way to town.
The walk to and from town is a pleasant amble - a direct and flat walk (no hills) on cobblestone Av. Revolucion, the town's main road which we are situated close to. It's a straight shot into the town center, Plaza and principal beach.
