Our property is a double storied brick house situated beside the Hokitika River in a quiet neighbourhood. We are in close proximity to to local attractions or day trips to glaciers or Pancake Rocks. We have four bedrooms upstairs for guest. 2 with ensuites and 2 with guest share bathroom. There is a shared lounge upstairs where guest can share their travel stories over a complimentary tea, coffee and biscuit The upstairs rooms are all allocated to guest comfort with 4 bedrooms shared lounge and 3 Bathrooms. All rooms have TV. Small fridge supplied for guest use and tea making facilities. Breakfast is served downstairs in dining room. Choice of cooked or continental. We have a small very friendly dog and three cats so hope you like animal's. There is a large garden area and views of the Southern Alps and beautiful sunsets. We have a large patio area that guests are welcome to use. We are within a five minute walk to the town center with its numerous retail outlets and restaurant's of which we recommend Stumpers Bar. Local attractions include Lake Kaniere, Hokitika Gorge, Lake Mahinipua, Pacific ocean with its anazing sunset. For a day trip you can go to Southern Lakes, Fox and Franz Joseph Glaciers or the Pancake Rocks at Punakiki or Shantytown in Greymouth. We provide breakfast continental and cooked. Laundry facilities and BBQ available if requested. We have four mountain bikes for hire for guests so why not take a ride around town, to the local Lakes or do some of the Wilderness Trail. We enjoy having guests in our home and ensure you are made to feel welcome.

We are in our 70s and have been running our B&B for 25 years. Sharyn is a retired nurse and Butch a retired house painter. We are animal lovers and have two small dogs and a very friendly cat. We are parents of three children who have blessed us with 8 grandchildren. Our hobbies are gardening and recently travel. We do the old fashioned B&B cooked breakfast and enjoy the conversation around the breakfast table with all the guests. Butch is the cook and goes great eggs. You are welcome in to join us for a chat at anytime. We respect your privacy if that is what you like. We just hope that you feel at home

Hokitika is a small town with a population of around 5000 people. It is a safe, clean town with beautiful scenery Our main employment is from the local milk powder factory and tourism. We are situated on a corner section next to the river and a short walk from the town center. We also run holiday cottages next door under the name of Amberlea Cottages. The town offers a wide selection of restaurants to cater for all tastes.
