Poripori Homestead is ideal place to stay for holidays/vacations, celebrations, family get-togethers and occasions, or work, with the Homestead (3 bedroom accommodation) also being wheelchair accessible. Many guests use Poripori as a place for families and friends to meet and spend time together, and for groups of people to meet and catch up or go to an event together (weddings/birthdays/funerals). Business people also often stay here as a working group. While in the country, shops and facilities are close by, with Tauranga Crossing 8-10 minutes away and the Tauranga CBD 15-20 minutes away. Poripori works well as a location to explore the Bay of Plenty. Guests staying here use Poripori as a base to explore the lower Coromandel, the Waikato (1.25 hr), Rotorua (50 min-1 hour), Hobbiton (40 min), and even Taupo and Waitomo, so you can unpack once and then enjoy a range of local attractions and activities. We have a large garden which you are welcome to walk in. There are chickens free range around the place (some ducks too from the neighbours). We have Molly our cat and Snoop our dog.

Julian and Frances have been hosting guests since 2012 and while we do live in on the property, you have the privacy of your own space - however if you do need something or have a question we are often around or contactable by phone. We enjoy meeting people from around the world and aim to make your stay as enjoyable as we can.

Attractions nearby are the swimming holes in the Wairoa river, 5 minutes walk away, MacLaren Falls park, 5 minutes drive - great for walks and a relaxing coffee in the cafe. If you want a more adventurous activity, try riverbugging on the Wairoa river, or go kayaking in the evening to see glowworms. Within an hour from here, you can visit Hobbiton (40 mins) or Rotorua (50-60min), so you can base yourself at Poripori, leave bag packing for a few days, and explore the Bay from one location. A mall and shops - supermarket, pharmacies, cinema, and dining are all 8-10 minutes away by car at Tauranga Crossing.
