We are so very happy to live in this beautiful and tranquil piece of New Zealand, so much so that we decided we wanted to share it with everyone. For our guests we have provided a private cabin with own garden and private sunny deck. A delicious breakfast of farm fresh eggs, a selection of cereals, fruit juice, bread butter and homemade jam are included in your nightly tariff. There is also a selection of teas and coffees for you to enjoy. There are some lovely walks within 5 minutes of the property, 'Harts Creek Walk' is highly recommended as is a walk to the Lakeside Domain affording you 360 degree views of Lake Ellesmere, one of the premiere bird watching areas of New Zealand. There are always the endearing little fantails darting around outside the cabin - for which the cabin was named. You will find yourself in a peaceful rural area but only a 5 minute drive to the local town of Leeston. This is a working farm so you will see us around the place tending to our animals and gardens. We invite you to enjoy the spa and also to spend time in the bar area we have created. We have taken special care to make sure we provide you with as much comfort as possible - you will always find a warm welcome at Bluestone Retreat.

We live by the Recycle, Reuse, Repurpose and Renovate ethos and when creating any new building and decor we always try to rescue what we need to complete the project. An example of this is the feature wall in the cabin, this was created using wall paper from sample books, ribbon and upholstery tacks. Check out the photos :-) We also love to travel exploring the world near and far and gaining new experiences and making new friends along the way. Volunteering is big in our lives and we give many hours to various organisations.

There are two lovely walks nearby the first "Harts Creek' walk is full of nature to explore only a 5 min walk from the property and in the opposite direction you can walk 5 minutes to the Lakeside Domain which will give you almost 360 degree views of Lakes Ellesmere. To sit and enjoy the peace, tranquility and beautiful views across the lake.
