We're in the pretty village of Arapuni down a quiet side road sharing a fence with a dairy farm. There is room for large vehicle parking and secure covered bike storage for cyclists. Newly renovated kitchen, bathroom, shower and air conditioner. Comfortable queen bed in the spacious living area and separate single bedroom. Enjoy outdoor dining on your outdoor patio and deck where you may also enjoy the noisy birdlife including Tui and Kaka that often visit the garden.
We are a retired couple Graeme and Deborah with our 2 dogs, Maya (greyhound) and Ruby (welcome comitee). Our place can be a perfect base for a midweek stay while traveling for work. Or your holiday while you visit the many attractions and events around the Waikato, especially cycle trails and fishing.
Arapuni was established over 100 years ago to build the Dam and unique Power Station. You too can experience crossing the swing bridge that was used daily by the workers building the power station. We are the hub of the Waikato River Trails which is a must do for walkers and cyclists. The famous local Rhubarb Café has great food and is very popular with cyclists and motor cyclists. Try fishing from the Dam or kayaking on Lake Arapuni. Another must is a visit to Sanctuary Mountain 12 mins drive. This is New Zealands largest fenced E co Sanctuary. Enjoy Bush walks through NZ's ancient vibrant forest alive with native wildlife. You easily do day trips to - Hobbiton 26 mins Lake Karapiro 26 mins Mystery Creek Events Centre (Field Days ) 41 mins Waitomo Caves 57 mins Rotorua 58 mins
