Your hosts, Mark and Caro welcome you to stay at Kiwi Cove. We hope you like the odd kiwiana touches.
Your hosts are Mark & Caro which is short for Carolyn. I (Caro) was born and bred in Hamilton, NZ. However, I also have roots in the South Island around Bluff, Invercargill, Colac Bay, and Dunedin. I am of English and Scottish descent, a fourth-generation kiwi. Mark was born in a small town called Barbeton which is located within the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. The town originated in the 1980s due to a gold rush. He was living in East Rand, Johannesburg, in a town called Kempton Park before migrating to NZ in 2011.
Our respective children are now adults and living independently. We have two fur babies, Bella, our Boston Terrier, and Kyah our short-legged Jack Russell. Both of our girls are very friendly. Kyah thinks she the mayor of the street so may bark when you arrive and leave – she is full of it!
Together we enjoy camping, off roading, playing cards, travel, snorkelling. Mark works in project management and is handy with lots of things. I am a social worker within the child protection arena and like to plod around in my garden or read.
We are happy to support you and assist with any local knowledge.
