Welcome, Kuranui Cottage Thames, was originally built in 1869 during the gold rush times, it has recently been fully refurbished from the ground up, fully insulated, double glazed, top quality accommodation that has something special! We have tried to keep as many of the original features as possible. Fully secure including a methamphetamine monitored alarm to protect every body. While we don't provide a full breakfast we do provide full range of cereals, fresh milk, fresh fruit, eggs, toast bread, plus please feel free to help yourself to the fridge, pantry - I try to make the cottage as much like home as possible, and easy for you! Thames is the gateway to the Coromandel, and boasts many attractions - historical town with cafes bars and boutiques, beautiful beaches and rivers to swim in. Museums are a plenty featuring our historical gold mining past. Artists abound including the Famous "Steam Punk" festival. For lots of interesting things to do and see, look up interesting Thames. As above Thames is fascinating - I fell in love with it as a small child - the history, beaches, museums, river swims (Kauaeranga river is the best) and best of all the wonderful people! Famous landmark is the "Pinnacles" check out online - not for the fainthearted. Close to the Hauraki Rail Trail, bikes can by hired in Thames at Jolly Bikes. Fantastic Fishing with plenty of charters available.
