Lady Bowen Bed and Breakfast is a heritage hotel which was built in 1886 during the goldmining boom in the area . It has been lovingly renovated and redecorated over the years but still retains the general layout and charm of yesteryear. It is located on a quiet residential street away from the bustle but just a short stroll from the main shopping areas with their many cafes, restaurants and bars. Guests can explore the wonderful Coromandel area with its spectacular beauty, world famous beaches and many walks and bike trails using the Lady Bowen Bed and Breakfast as a relaxing and restful base. We have several guest areas including a lovely balcony where guests can enjoy a sunset, a garden with different areas so you can just laze in a hammock or chat with the other guest if you wish, a lounge with tv, pool table and small library, and a dining room where you will enjoy your delicious complimentary breakfast each morning

The Lady Bowen Bed and Breakfast is located on a quiet residential street in the historic area of Thames. Thames was once a goldmining town and this is reflected in the nearby attractions. The School of Mines, The Goldmine Experience, Thames Museum, The Treasury, Small Gauge Railway are all a very short walk from us and the shopping center which boasts many cafes, bars and eateries is an easy ten minute walk away. The Hauraki Bike Trial with its 173 kms of bike tracks can be access nearby. The spectacular Pinnacles hike is a short drive away. Thames is the gateway to the Coromandel Peninsulia with its many spectacular bush walks and world famous beaches. Hot Water Beach, Cathederal Cove and New Chums beach are all a short drive away and the Coromandel has many other amazing beaches for travellers to "discover". If you are wanting to travel a bit further Auckland is only about 90 minutes away, Hamilton is about an hour away and we are about 90 minutes from Tauranga so Thames is an ideal base for tourists and holiday makers of all types.
