IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ: 1) We do not take payment at our property - payments on booking must be made online and in advance of your stay. 2) There is a 200 NZD damage deposit that must be paid before you arrive to our cottage. This is to be paid either by bank transfer or cash in Christchurch City via direct contact with the owner at least 7 days before you arrive. This deposit is refunded with 7 days after you leave the place clean, tidy and ordered as it was when you arrived. All information regarding this be sent to you in advance. 3) Guests must provide their own linen (sheets, pillow cases, towels, tea towels and dish cloths). We can provide linen at an extra fee (NZD 30-40 per room per stay) but we don't do this often and strongly prefer guests bring their own. 4) We are not a hotel or B&B - Holiday Homes are standalone houses and guests are responsible for cleaning and tidying the home upon leaving. Thank you!
Relax at Moananui Lodge, a spacious, fully equipped and self-contained three-bedroom waterfront retreat in Purau Bay, just 45 minutes from Christchurch. Built by the owner in 1995, this holiday home boasts a generous, landscaped coastal garden. Step off the deck onto the shelly beach, mere steps away. Located just beyond Diamond Harbour, it's easily accessible via Dyers Pass, Gebbies Pass, or Lyttelton. Moananui Lodge, a tastefully decorated holiday home, boasts commanding views and cozy comforts. Recently renovated & interior decorated, it features a log fire, fully equipped kitchen, and charming artwork. Relax on the sunny deck with its new veranda, or stroll across the road to the shelly beach. 3 bedrooms accommodate various group sizes. Enjoy ever-changing vistas of mountains and sea. We are a local, father-and-son business that has been operating for over 20 years, providing accomodation for both kiwis and international visitors in our two South Island holiday homes. These houses are our homes away from home and we stay at them ourselves as often as we can. We hope you will enjoy the love we have poured into them as well as their unique and stunning surroundings, and feel at home at them as well. Cheers, Robin and Ryan
Purau Bay, the "Mussel Basket," offers a rich tapestry of Maori history stretching back nearly 1000 years alongside early European whaling history. Explore the surroundings: swim in the sheltered bay, ferry to historic Lyttelton, hike scenic tracks, or golf at nearby Orton Bradley Park. Your perfect Banks Peninsula adventure await
