Nestled on the hill above Kuaotunu Beach with its commanding sea, bush and rural views. This cosy one bedroom cottage is the perfect place to relax, unwind, enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you. Abundant bird life and friendly farm animals add to this peaceful setting far removed from city life. The cottage is bright, sunny and comfortable. The double room has a queen size bed with cotton bedding, it's own bathroom with a bath & shower and a glorious view out to sea. The dining room has basic cooking facilities, a fridge and complimentary tea & coffee. The lounge has a sofa plus a single bed, with it's own bathroom it is also ideal for a third person to stay. There is a TV/DVD in this room and a TV in the bedroom. A selection of DVD's are available for those wet days to chill out. The whole building is 70 square meters with a terrace along the front of it which has outdoor seating and a Barbecue. The view from the Rawhiti Cottage is just the best.

Your Host Jill is always available if needed and is happy to give tips on where to go and what to do in the area. Guests' privacy is respected at all times. She is an active Trustee of the Kauri 2000 Trust, a long-term project to recreate significant stands of kauri on publicly owned land on the Coromandel Peninsula. She is also committed to living and working in a environmentally friendly sustainable way.

Your accommodation is conveniently located 20 minutes north of Whitianga and 30 minutes from Coromandel Town off Bluff Road Kuaotunu West. Kuaotunu is a picturesque village on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. Once a thriving gold mining town, it now has a very peaceful, serene beauty about it, clear of stucco clutter, flanked by native bush and pristine waterways. It is the ideal place to relax. In the village you will find the Kuaotunu Store, Kua Kafe and Luke's Kitchen. The Dunes Matarangi Golf Club and restaurant are just 4 km away along with Pipers Cafe and the NZ's best Four Square Matarangi 4Square. There are a number of pristine beaches to enjoy including Kuaotunu , Otama, Opito, Matarangi, New Chums, Whangaoua, Matapaua, each with their special characters and beauty. Excellent fishing. Amazing clear pollution free night skys.
