We are animal lovers, and are currently keeping our eyes open for the next right additions to our collection. Finally, we have hand-picked our staff with an eye to perfection -- we take special pride in the presentation of our property and the warm welcomes that our guests receive.

Property info

Shining Star is under new management! We look forward to welcoming new guests, as well as maintaining our special relationships with the loyal guests who keep returning for unique beachfront and menagerie-side accommodation. Our ears are wide-open; we intend to continue the tradition of top-notch service and lodging that make Shining Star the destination that it is today.

Neighborhood info

We are a beachfront property, and those units which are set back from the sea-most edge happen to border our menagerie. We which currently house two goats, one alpaca, two pigs, some chickens, and bunches of wild ducks and rabbits. And for the guest looking for something more exotic, we invite you to cross the road and visit the glow-worm dell (after dark -- these live in the bush). Of course, Hokitika and its many charms and quality eateries are a short drive or moderate (20 minute) walk from our property.
