“Location was nice, about 15 mins drive out of Martinborough, away from other houses, so no problem with neighbouring noises. Outside furniture was comfortable. House itself was really beautiful, kitchen is amazing. PS4 was a hit with our boys....”

Property info

A rural escape. A forest, a stream, an orchard, paddocks. Come here to get away from it all. There's plenty of space too, so bring the family or friends. Located approximately 20kms away from the Martinborough town square, and approximately 14kms away from the wild coastline at Lake Ferry, you can base yourself here to explore this scenic corner of South Wairarapa. Or you can stay in, and enjoy the laidback country lifestyle. Newly decorated open plan living, dining and kitchen, polished wooden floors throughout the house. The kitchen is complete including a stunning 5 burner gas smeg oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and soda stream. Bathrooms with underfloor heating. Security cameras are being used on this property to monitor the entranceways.

Neighborhood info

Take a drive to Martinborough and have dinner at the Martinborough Hotel which boasts a Michelin star chef, have coffee at Neighbourhood cafe or meet the locals over bacon and eggs at Kitcheners. If shopping is your thing, poke around in the funky little boutique shops sprinkled around the square and grab some of the locally produced delicacies on offer. Just a 15 minute drive from The Forest House is Lake Ferry, a sleepy beach village on the shores of Lake Onoke where it empties into rugged Palliser Bay. Go fishing with views of the South Island, try catching whitebait if you're here in spring - or just enjoy a sunset dinner at the Lake Ferry Hotel. They do fabulous whitebait fritters and flounder!
