Whaka Heights is on the lower Port HIlls providing excellent off street parking,quiet street, views over the city of Christchurch to the Southern Alps and beyond. Your bedroom is peaceful and allows exit to patio and outdoor seating. It is equipped with a practical spacious en-suite bathroom, a functional and well equipped kitchenette with a private living/dining area where you can relax with TV, music, books, games.
I am a keen traveller and have been to a number of overseas locations, often to absorb and enjoy the history, culture and natural beauty. I enjoy meeting other travellers providing a welcome stay where visitors can relax and recuperate, or explore near and far. I participate in many physical activities, belong to a range of organisations and have creative hobbies. I am the proud owner of a 1934 Ford Y and participate in local car clubs. I love living in this location with native plantings, native birdlife and the feeling of fresh air. My outdoor garden is bountiful with edibles, proteas and native trees.
There is a small shopping centre at the bottom of Whaka Tce a short walk down but a good puff back up. There is an excellent and reasonable hotel where you can get adequate meals and beverages. There is also a small supermarket, liquor store, chemist. There are many possible local walks around the scenic Heathcote (Opawaho) River and the surrounding hills. Whaka Heights is relatively close to large shopping complex, and recreation facilities that can be advised by your host. A big plus is the relative close proximity to the Christchurch One NZ (Te Kaha) stadium in the central city. You can leave your vehicle at the bottom of Colombo St or Cashmere Rd and catch a public bus to the bus exchange in Lichfield St. A short walk to the Stadium. or catch an Uber from Whaka Heights.
