CASA DA AVÓ is a Minho house reconstructed in the beginning of the 20th century. The house has two floors, with an external stone staircase serving the upper floor. The living space has 4 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 2 bathrooms, an interior balcony and a two small exterior bancanies. The house was refreshed, and re-decorated in 2017. The courtyard of the house is all landscaped with cedars, shrubs and flowers. The garden area is mostly sunny with some shadow spots. There is a table and stone benches for meals. Behind the garden there is a vegetable garden where the season vegetables grow. Guests are invited to pick up and taste fresh vegetables and fruits at no extra cost. It has 2 bikes and a barbecue. 3 km away is Caminha with terraces and restaurants, known for the natural beauty and the local gastronomy. Beautiful beachs, rivers, water-mill, and montains to explore. Turistic guides are offer to the visitant.

I am a chemist working in Minho University. I love reading and peaceful places. I will be around during week-ends. If any question comes I/ Adelaide will send somebody to fix the issue. Most of the times Adelaide will receive guests.

It is a beautiful house, well decorated, very comfortable. It has a touch of ancient beauty. The garden is a special place very well kept with plenty space for fruition (400 m2). The fruit & vegetable garden (500 m2) will give you the taste of nature in Minho. Local food, fine wines with excellent services are only 3 Km away. The surroundings are a patchwork of landscapes, with luxuriant vegetation, crystal clear and friendly waters from the rivers Minho and Coura, small pools, water mills spread around. The imposing Serra d’Arga with its 700 meters height is full a view points, and montain’s paths. Other things to note: Walking paths in the village; Walking routes in the mountains; Cycling along the Atlantic coast at 5 Km. Canoeing on the Coura River. Viewpoints with picnic conditions.
