To begin with, a few words about the history of this place... The Lugar da Lourida was originally built and inhabited in the beginning of the twentieth century by a family of farmers of Minho for more than a half century. Here the land was cultivated and domestic animals were kept within the simplicity of agricultural life. In the beginning of the twenty-first century the Lugar da Lourida had been left in a state of complete abandonment for more than 20 years, with the land overgrown by high ivy and brambles, and the buildings completely wrecked.

In 2012, after some years searching for a place where we might spend holydays and weekends with family and friends, we found this wonderful place, the Lourida. From here it starts a new history with a new purpose. The main house was in a very bad shape and both its restoration and of the outside green spaces have been our task for 9 years of hard work, enormous perseverance and great motivation.

The Lugar da Lourida is located in the Vale do Âncora, Orbacém village, municipality of Caminha, district of Viana do Castelo, 9 km distant from the seaside. It is situated in the outskirts of the village, in an extremely peaceful landscape and of great environmental beauty. Both the house and the outdoors are well equipped for relaxed holydays with no worries. It includes 3 small rooms, but quite comfortable, a kitchen/dining room well equipped, a living room with books, TV, films, games, one small bathroom with shower and another service wc, functional for a good holyday in family and/or with friends. The surrounding landscape is very pretty and the garden has several leisure areas including a very nice swimming pool treated with salt. In order to make your stay even better we have bicycles and strand supplies available to the guests. A set of characteristics and details that make of Lourida a unique and special Place!
