The Restaurant and Bar downstairs is open from midday and is a great place to meet Residents and Tourists. We opened Q-Bar 1997, a laid back meeting point with 12 rooms, over the years it grew to 19 individually decorated rooms. Under new ownership from 2022 and re-branded as Q2 Bar & Guest House, the rooms have been tastefully modernised and offer a comfortable, clean, safe and cost effective space for our guests. Located in Masaki Peninsula 3 kilometres from Dar es salaam City centre, this locality is popular with foreigners & locals. Restauruants, entertainment, beaches, hotels and shopping are all with a 10 minute distance from Q2. The downstairs Bar & Restaurant is somehing of an institution in Masaki and is locally referred to in Swahili as Mze wa Masaki, (The Old Man of Masaki). It is famous for it's Thursday - Karioki, Friday - DJ, Saturday - Live Band and pool, darts plus all sporting events screned live. It is a must to enjoy for the young at heart until the early morning hours, (we urge our hotel guests to join in the fun). A favourite hang out for old & young, locals & foreigners, men & women. Q2-Bar is located in a great neighbourhood, on a beautiful Peninsula. The area is a good mix of Residential, Shops, Restaurants. and there is always something to do. Around the corner from us you have the famous Tinga Tinga market which is a must visit in Dar es Salaam. There is also a Supermarket, Hairdresser and Spa, Pharmacy, Post Office, and several restaurants close to us. Coco Beach is a ten minute walk from us, it is popular for swimming, jogging, Martial Art, Kite and wave surfing. It is generally safe to walk around during the day but as in any big city, avoid bringing valuables with you. Taxi, Bajaj (Tuk Tuk) and Boda Boda (motorbikes) are easy to find as well. Bolt works a treat and is very affordable.
