Your morning alarm will be birdsong, and on lucky days you’ll see a cheeky monkey family strolling through the garden. It’s simple, calm and cosy, the kind of place where books get finished and shoulders finally drop. The best part? You enjoy the peace of your private home while also having complimentary access (during opening hours) to the pool, beach, bar and restaurant next door. Start your morning with a swim, grab a drink by the ocean, then wander back to your quiet terrace to unwind. We’re gently growing Solaya, adding thoughtful touches as we go. Think flourishing garden and quiet sanctuary, not construction site. This is a quiet, non-party home, perfect for rest, reset and slow living. Karibu sana. You are warmly welcome.
Hi, I’m Mimii, your host at Solaya. I love helping guests discover the calm, natural beauty of this part of Zanzibar. I respond quickly and can easily arrange airport transfers, dolphin trips, snorkelling, or share the best local food spots. Solaya Residence is part of a personal dream, to one day create a small village of like-minded souls enjoying a piece of heaven on earth: a tranquil oasis where nature, community, and serenity meet. This is the first of a few little homes we’re building on the property. One day we hope to add a pool and shared social spaces, but for now, it’s all about peace, simplicity, and comfort. Kizimkazi is the gentle, unhurried end of Zanzibar - a place where life moves with the tides. It’s known for sunrise dolphin trips, hidden coves, and the kind of star-filled skies you only get far from the city lights. Days roll by with reef walks, ocean swims, and warm breezes drifting in from Menai Bay. The village itself is safe, friendly, and relaxed. Expect fishermen heading out at dawn, kids laughing on their way to school, and neighbours who greet you with a smile. It’s quiet, intentionally so, perfect for resting, writing, recharging. When you want more buzz, the beach cafés, kitesurf schools and restaurants of Paje and Jambiani are an easy drive away. Nature lovers are also close to Jozani Forest (red colobus monkeys), Menai Bay Conservation Area, and beautiful sandbanks reachable by boat. Kizimkazi is for travellers who prefer peace over parties, ocean air over traffic, and slow moments over schedules. Relaxed, warm, and wonderfully unhurried.
