This was hands down the best place to stay in Zanzibar! I was looking for somewhere quiet to relax with amazing sunset views, and this spot couldn’t have been more perfect. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, and the chef even taught me some Swahili! The staff were incredible: always friendly, attentive, and going out of their way to make sure everything was just right. It’s the little things that really stood out. On my last day, I had a late-night flight and was going to miss breakfast. Without me even asking, they packed one up for me to take on my trip. That kind of thoughtfulness says everything about how much they care for their guests. I’d 100% recommend this place and would come back in a heartbeat if I get the chance to visit Zanzibar again!

We loved everything about this place. We had a beachfront bungalow which was so cozy and comfortable. Amazing view of the ocean and you can hear the waves throughout the night even with windows shut. It’s a quiet area so all you can hear is the waves. The resort itself is clean, staff is super friendly and breakfast right by the beach in the morning is picturesque. We were met by the owner upon arrival which put us at ease and we felt very welcomed. 100% would stay here again !

Super clean, royal ambience, you feel like royalty because the staff treats you like one. The food was delicious and to die for! Chef Suneel came out to greet at every meal and took our requests personally. Lillian ensured our stay was well cared for, anything we needed she was more than happy to help. The breakfasts were amazing, new theme each day and they went above and beyond for everything. I felt like I was in paradise! I would not stay anywhere else but here.

A very beautiful hotel with great potential. Everything feels new: modern furniture, stylish rooms, and well-designed public areas. Overall, the property looks fresh and aesthetically pleasing. However, it was surprising to notice some finishing issues for a brand-new 5-star hotel — small paint imperfections, uneven edges, and areas that look unfinished. In the spa area (hammam), the pool entrances were loose and unstable, which is not only unattractive but also potentially unsafe. This definitely needs attention. The biggest highlight of our stay was the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming, and clearly doing their best — and thanks to them, we still had a very positive overall experience. Food quality was very good across the restaurants — everything we tried was tasty. We would only suggest adding more seafood variety, considering the location and access to fresh seafood. The main downside for us was the ocean. During our stay, it was almost impossible to swim because of the large amount of seaweed. We understand it can be seasonal, but at least the beach area could be cleaned more regularly so guests can enjoy a clean walking zone. Overall, we had a good experience thanks to the amazing staff and the hotel’s strong concept. With some improvements in details and service, this place can truly become an excellent 5-star resort.

Our stay at Mia Hotel in Zanzibar was nothing short of extraordinary. The location is simply perfect, offering breathtaking views of the beach that you could marvel at all day. The pool was an absolute delight, a perfect spot to relax and soak in the serene surroundings. The rooms were spotless, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Being close to both modern and local restaurants added convenience and variety to our stay, while the availability of guides at the gate made exploring Zanzibar effortless. The complimentary breakfast at Mia Hotel is unbelievable. It’s not just a meal; it’s a culinary experience that sets the perfect tone for the day. From freshly prepared dishes to a wide variety of options, every bite reflects the care and expertise of the hotel’s talented chef, Mudryk. It was one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had, and it’s included in the already affordable price – an incredible value! One of the most unforgettable aspects of our trip was the people of Zanzibar and Tanzania. They are some of the most lovable, kind, and welcoming people we have ever encountered. Their warmth, generosity, and genuine hospitality touched our hearts and made our trip truly special. The staff at Mia Hotel exemplified this spirit of kindness and dedication. Azad, the manager, is a standout professional who amazed us with his ability to handle every task we entrusted to him with precision and care. Sihan, another manager, showed the same level of commitment and attentiveness. Michael, a humble and incredible individual, won us over with his kindness and wonderful personality. Adolf, Ramson, Judith, Philip, and all the staff – were beyond words, consistently going above and beyond to make us feel at home. A special shoutout to Mudryk, the chef, whose culinary expertise left us speechless.

Everything, the staff was so kind and helpful. The room was always clean. I would say the breakfast was excellent every day. We had great fruits like mango, banana, pineapple, passion fruit, all the local fruits. Quite an experience.

Michamvi is located approximately 65 kilometers from Forodhani, and the journey can feel quite long—particularly if you have just arrived in Zanzibar. The drive is somewhat uncomfortable due to the condition of the road, which consists largely of worn, uneven tarmac. Additionally, the area lacks local street food options, leaving nearby hotels—most of which are high-end and expensive—as the primary dining choices. As someone who genuinely enjoys the rich and flavorful cuisine of Stone Town, I found the food in the area to be rather bland and not reflective of its price point.

Michamvi is good for relaxing and enjoying . There are few vendors and they are not disturbing you and friendly. We stayed 25 days at Kikoi Boutique Resort and arranged all excursions on Zanzibar as well as a Safari with Sir Alex at Kikoi for reasonable prices and with good service . Their Cook Mister Mahaveer Sing is a real Master Chef and we enjoyed every meal he prepared us . Compliments to all the people working there. You made our stay unfogettable. Greetings Paula& Johannes from The Netherlands . We are looking forward to come back again .

the welcoming commetee was amazing. They made us feel at home. Checking in was a breeze and the pool bar staff was so helpful and friendly. I loved the music by the pool area,it was inclusive to all nations. Tha food was amazing the whole experience was great. I was there to celebrate my birthday and they made it extra special. From the decoration in my room,to the suprise cake and singing.i had a good time. The rock resturant is less than 5min away, we wemt there using the free bicycle offered at the hotel.

Enjoyed having lunch at the Rock and also liked the lunch at Kea restaurant.It is simple getting around Michamvi and don't even have to ask your way around.We enjoyed snorkling and going to the star fish spot

First of all, the service by the staff is 100. They are very attentive to detail and always willing to go an extra mile to assist. The food? 10/10…the staff is very fluent in English which made communication very easy. They also have a generator incase of power outage which is very common in Zanzibar , 🥹so thoughtful of the property. The linen was very clean and the rooms are very well kept. My 5 yr old son had to walk to the chef and compliment him on his delicious pasta dish. I am definitely coming back.

The room was exactly as it is on the pictures. The bed was big and comfortable. The hotel area is beautiful and spacious. I really liked that there were enough sunbeds for all guests and the place was never crowed. The pool is great, breakfast is amazing and in general the food at the restaurant was very good. I also loved the location, Michamvi beach: I was afraid that it will be too hidden with no services/restaurants, but there was everything there what is needed. It was quiet, but not too quiet.

The best vibes and design we got during our entire trip. We wish we could stay longer. The whole places gives off reggae jungle vibes and is very aesthetic. Food was the best we tried on Zanzibar. We recommend basically everything they give. In the evening there was bonfire and playing drums. We had great chats with workers!
