This resort hotel sits on 23 acres of beachfront property, surrounded by the history and tropical scenery of Sanibel Island. Two on-site restaurants and in-room spa services are available. The spacious suites at Casa Ybel Resort all feature a private balcony with views of the Gulf of Mexico. Suites are equipped with an iPod docking station, a flat-screen TV, and a DVD player. All suites have a full kitchen and living room. The historic Thistle Lodge Restaurant was once visited by American inventors Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. A variety of Floridian, European and Asian specialties are served including lobster bisque and yellowtail snapper. Coconuts, a poolside bar and grill, offers burgers, fish sandwiches and drinks. Guests of Casa Ybel can enjoy the Olympic-sized beachfront pool or receive seaside massage treatments. Tennis, bicycle rentals and other activities are also available. Casa Ybel Resort is 2.5 miles from the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum and less than 5 miles from the JN Darling National Wildlife Refuge.
