Step into The Ohia by Vera Hawaii, a 500 sq. ft. poolside one-bedroom suite with boho textiles and natural accents. Featuring a private entrance, a large open living space, kitchenette, and a private lanai, The Ohia is the ideal place to immerse yourself in laid back Hawaiian living. The suite spans the lower level of The Koi House, set beside a nature reserve that echoes a relaxed way of life. The Ohia is the perfect homebase for all of your adventures and a 10 minute drive from the heart of Kailua-Kona. The Ohia is a private apartment in The Koi House, an expansive open air home with multiple rentals, thoughtfully designed with eclectic bohemian surf style and eco-minded touches throughout. The hosts live in the main part of the house above the suite. The Ohia features a Queen-sized bed in a bedroom with sliding barn door, a workspace that looks out to the pool, dining table, outdoor bistro set, and walk-in shower. The kitchenette comes fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster, blender, grill, hotplate stove, coffee maker, electric kettle, utensils, and cookware. Guests also have access to the grill just outside the suite by the pool. Enjoy a casual and friendly vibe at The Koi House when you hang out by the pool to indulge in some reading, catch some sun and take a refreshing dip. In the evenings, throw on a record on and grill up some dinner under the pool string lights. To make your stay comfortable, The Ohia is well stocked with amenities like deluxe toiletries, Turkish beach towels, cooler basket, clothes steamer and iron, yoga gear, reef safe sunscreen, insect repellent and more. With a complimentary set of body boards, beach and snorkel gear, The Ohia has everything you need for your relaxing Hawaiian retreat. Please note, the apartment does not have air conditioning. The Ohia is equipped with 2 ceiling fans and a tower fan. Please keep this in mind when booking, as we know it is important to some travelers.

The Koi House is located in a quiet residential neighborhood 10 minutes away from the shops and restaurants of downtown Kailua-Kona and many nearby beaches. While our neighborhood is suburban, The Koi House sits at the edge of a nature reserve and is on a small private road, so it feels rural and tucked away. The Koi House is centrally located making it easy to access many destinations in Kona. The best parts of the Big Island are only accessible via car, so we recommend renting one for your visit. We are 25 minutes from the Kona International Airport, 10 minutes from grocery stores, and 5 minutes from Magic Sands Beach.
