I am single, and really enjoy having people stay at my place. It is great to give guests a clean, comfortable and safe place to stay so that they can have a great base to return to after seeing all the beautiful paces in and around the Peninsula.

I decided to build this house in 1987. Virtually had no money, but lots of enthusiasm and a head full of ideas. Initially it was a very modern structure as my friends, Raymond Smith and Philippe Moonens who designed it convinced me to go this way. With time I kept on adding, and the building became more ugly as time went on. But then, one day, I saw the most beautiful house in a coastal village , and when I told a friend, he convinced me that it was possible to make a few changes and create the same "look" which I then did. Wow what a difference, and since then I have had so many compliments from various people.

There is a lot to discover in and around Cape Town, from beautiful white sandy beaches to wonderful tourist attractions such as Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch and Cape Point, to modern shopping centres and wine farms a stone's throw from us. There are many restaurants in the area, and we are very central for visits to surrounding towns such as Stellenbosch with its stunning Cape Dutch architecture, Paarl with its very long main road also featuring Cape Dutch houses, and Franschoek . If you go the other way then there is my favourite namely Kalk Bay with is harbour and main road filled with interesting antique shops, Simons Town where you will find the penguin colony, and then the cherry on the cake, Cape Point which is the most southern tip of the Cape Peninsula and not of Africa as some people will tell you
