As we are both wildlife and bird lovers, we have deliberately kept our garden natural so as to attract the local birds and wildlife - including porcupines, grysbok, sugarbirds and sunbirds as well as tortoises and striped field mice! And as we have spectacular views of False Bay, we are well placed to see marine wildlife from here too e.g. gannets and cormorants flying past, seals, whales, dolphins and even killer whales on the odd occasion! Our intention with both of our very spacious apartments is to provide comfortable and well furnished accommodation that provides our guests with an enjoyable stay in all respects

We are both outdoor and nature enthusiasts and love living in this area for the lifestyle it offers i.e. the sea, hiking and cycling in the Cape Peninsula, the spectacular views and the laid back culture in this part of Cape Town. We also run a tour operation specialising in birding and wildlife safaris around the country. Patrick is a bird expert and leads some of our birding tours - and we're always happy to chat to guests about their travel plans in Southern Africa

Simon's Town is the last village before the end of the Cape Peninsula. It has always been a navy base with a mainly British feel. It is also famous for its African Penguin colony, along the coast below our home. Some of the other activities residents and visitors enjoy are kayaking, hiking, cycling, sea fishing, boat cruises in False Bay, Great White Shark cage diving excursions in the winter months, and Pelagic sea birding boat trips all year round. As it is only about 15 minutes form the Cape Point nature reserve, this is an ideal place from which to explore the park, before the crowds of central Cape Town get there. The 'deep south' as this part of Cape Town is known, has many coffee shops, restaurants, and even a wine estate (Cape Point Vineyards) so no shortage of things to do and experience. BUT public transport is limited so you MUST have your own (rental) vehicle to make the most of this beautiful area.
