A modern off grid cottage with solar to power all the amenities you require. We created and positioned the cottage so that it would allow you to Exhale as soon as you step out onto the stoep with its breathtaking views of the bird-filled valley and surrounding towering mountains that continually change colour. We want your heart beat to slow and your senses to heighten as you breathe in the fresh Karoo air and fragrant surrounding vegetation. If you are still a little stressed, the wood-fired hot tub is sure to relax every muscle in your body. Look up at the stars as you laze on the stoep netting or take a short walk down to the rock pond to cool down on hot summer days. If you're feeling more energetic, we have a 2.5km walking path that takes you around the farm with some high lookout stops to rest and view the valleys below. If cooking or braaing is your passion, you can do that inside or on the stoep and watch the moon rise over the distant hills. With a different view from every window, we are sure your stay at Exhale cottage will be a memorable one.

We are excited to share our piece of heaven with you. We bought the farm and named it Journey to symbolise this new chapter of our lives and Exhale cottage is just the beginning.

The cottage is nestled in the fertile and fruit tree lined Keisie Valley. It is situated around 2.5 hours from Cape Town and 18km from the picturesque town of Montagu, bursting with art, history, great food and friendly people. Pick up your supplies in Montagu as you may end up relaxing at the cottage for the rest of your stay. The short graded gravel farm road will guide you to the front door.
