Cape Town, the Mother City, boasts many magnificent hotels and lodges. One of the best positions, however, is enjoyed by Floréal House. Dating back to the 1920's, the lodge is exceptionally stylish, with impressive white exterior and wooden-framed windows. Conveniently situated in Oranjezicht, the lodge has easy access to the Waterfront, Table Mountain and the beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton. Floreal House offers the comfort of a small hotel within a stone's throw of the heart of Cape Town, but away from the urban bustle and noise.
The lodge is surrounded by open parks, all of which have interesting histories of their own involving slave markets, botanical gardens, and the former estates of manor houses of the original settlers of the Cape. The Gardens, also known as Company’s Gardens, were the initial raison d’être for the Dutch settlement at the Cape.
