100% Solar Powered property, so no load-shedding - EVER! Located on the Knysna Lagoon, our Cottage is suitable for up to 4 guests. It has 2 bedrooms (1 with a Queen bed, the other with 2 single beds), a bathroom, and kitchen & dining/living room area. Access is along Kaptein W A Duthie Ave in Lake Brenton. We are a fishing and bird-watching paradise situated on the Western Heads side of the lagoon. It’s a 15 minute drive into Knysna town or a 45 minute walk over the old railway bridge. Check-in is very easy as our friendly caretaker, Emmanuel, will be there to meet you and can assist with any requests or resolve any issues you may have during your stay. We also have a house on the property. Felistas, Emmanuel’s wife, keeps the cottage sparkling clean. The Cottage is fully furnished with full DSTV connectivity, free wifi, has a balcony overlooking the lagoon with Weber braai and outdoor furniture, small enclosed garden, separate braai area at ground level, and storeroom for bicycles, canoes etc. We are completely off-grid and run off solar power, rain water/+borehole backup, and a bioreactor waste processing plant. In winter you will provided with firewood for the fireplace to help keep out the winter chill.
We love guests to be able to share our little piece of paradise :).
Most guests comment on the tranquility of the Cottage and surrounds, without having to travel very far for a good meal locally, in town, or at the Waterfront. You can also enjoy long walks on the beach. There are also lovely walks in the Knysna forest area. We have a brochure with recommended activities and sights, far too many to mention here!
