I trained as a Veterinary nurse and worked for many years in this field. 26 years ago, we started our first BnB and I have been in the hospitality industry ever since. I have four incredible adult children, one of which, Anna, who is a trained chef, lives at Hedge House and helps with the baking and cooking.

Property info

Hedge House is a very personal business run from our home. Our staff Shirley Sharon and Susan have been with my family for many years. I am so grateful to this excellent team of amazing women and of course, Wellington who cares for the garden. In Winter guest beds are covered by a beautiful Afghan blanket. These were hand knitted with love by Ruth, a Zimbabwean living in Cape Town. We also have several worm "farms" which compost all our fruit & vegetable waste and then fertilize the veggie garden and other selected plants! In January 2023, we installed inverters to keep electricity on during power outages.

Neighborhood info

We live in a well-established, leafy suburb which is friendly, quiet and safe. Keurboom Park is a 5 minute walk away, where a family of owls is frequently seen and dogs play off lead. The closest restaurants are a kilometer away
