We are renting out a lovely free-standing, self-catering, two-bedroom cottage with a fully equipped kitchen in Somerset West. It is nestled between large pine trees. Perfect for artist retreats, working professionals (9.5 km from Technopark) or someone who needs to be close to Vergelegen Mediclinic (5.9 km). Close to amenities (2.1 km from Spar, 3.8 km from Waterstone Village, 6 km from Somerset Mall). Come and enjoy the frogs croaking and birds singing! A little piece of heaven! Worried about loadshedding? Apart from the stove, the cabin is not affected by loadshedding and has uninterrupted internet.
My husband and I have been renting out this cottage since 2022, and we love hosting guests from all around the world. Ruan is a software engineer; I work as an editor at an Afrikaans publishing house.
The cottage is equipped with an alarm system, armed response, beams and electric fencing, but it is situated in a safe neighbourhood on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain. Despite being in a neighbourhood, it is next to Helderberg College's macadamia orchard, which makes you forget that you are in Somerset West, close to the mall, beach and traffic towards Cape Town! Across the road is a stone pine forest where you can go for walks.
