Company info

We have owned Hide-Away Guest House for over 17 years. Prior to purchasing the B&B we lived in Dubai for five years. Having been in the airline industry for many years, we are both well travelled internationally and locally. We are passionate about South Africa in general and the Garden Route in particular and can provide our guests with lots of great information on what to do whilst they are in the area and country. We love to provide our guests advice on how best they spend their time whilst at Hide Away and will give you our personal recommendations on where to enjoy great cuisine around the town. You will not be disappointed!

Property info

The original home known as Hide-Away or "Wegkruip" was built in the 1940's by the then local dentist of the town who also filled the role of Deputy Mayor of Knysna. The current building is only about 17 years old after the previous owners extended the building by adding the first floor. The home however still reflects the old Cape Colonial style. If you are looking for glitz and glamour then Hide Away is not for you. We see ourselves as being warm and cozy with lovely wooden furniture in all rooms. Bathrooms however are modern and recently upgraded.

Neighborhood info

Being within 20 minutes walking distance of town, Knysna Waterfront and the ever popular Thesen Island, we find that most guests tend to walk into town for dinner and catch a taxi back to the B&B. We can arrange for taxi pickups and dropoffs at any time during the time you are with us. We offer secure off-street parking for all guests and have security measures taken care of.
