One day, we stood on the farm. Someone said:" This is one of the most special views on the farm". "Someone else said: "We should do something with this old building". And so Protea Wilds Retreat was born. Made with what we had on the farm for a start and upgraded and added on as the years went by. I also love travelling, food and wine, so I am conscious about what guests needs are.

Property info

We want you to feel welcome and have a comfortable, memorable experience. Our environment is peaceful and relaxed and so are we! No formal check-in here - we meet you as we would our friends. Our units each have a different character, but more or less the same facilities. Personal attention from myself (owner/manager and "chief cook and bottle washer" ) will assure that you can indulge in sumptuous food, a comfortable bed, quality linen and towels and true farm hospitality.

Neighborhood info

We are a farming community and on our road alone we have a wine farm (they also do cheese platters), forest quad rides and cycling tracks. In the area around us, there is virtually any activity you can think of available and on offer, as well as speciality outings like Knysna Elephant Park, Adventure Land with waterslides, Raptor rehab centre, Knysna Ziplines, Monkeyland and Birds of Eden sanctuary and Tenikwa cat specie sanctuary - to name a few!
