With an en-suite bedroom, guest bathroom, lounge and open-floor kitchen, the Quirky Bird has all you need for a self-catered stay! Quirky Bird is functional, simple, and spacious with a high-beam roof and windows all around to maximize views of the valley. There is a dedicated workspace in the common area with unlimited, free, and fast Wi-Fi available. The bedroom and en suite bathroom is on the floor below, accessed by stairs with a railing. Please note that the property consists of 3 other households (with some pets). The garden and entryway are shared, but you'll have your own private space in the Quirky Bird.

Having worked in the hospitality industry all my life, it only made sense to begin my own venture to offer people a place where they can relax and stay while they visit the South Peninsula. Meeting new interesting people, creating connections helping others has always been a great passion and value of mine. The 'Quirky Bird' is a part of my home that has been made into a private one bedroom apartment. Years of love, handcrafted work, and effort have been put into making my house a home and a perfect yet simple place for guests to come and enjoy. We are located in a peaceful neighborhood with an active neighborhood watch and local community. Glencairn Beach and tidal pool, a Qwik-spar, and local restaurants are a 20- 30 min walk or 3 minute drive down the valley. Once a month on a Saturday, there is a small market and tea garden where members of the community sell baked goods and some handmade arts and crafts. Glencairn has a train station next to the beach where you can hop on and take a trip into Simon's Town or in the other direction towards Cape Town. The train runs on a 20-minute timetable and has security guards for passengers' safety. Simon's Town, which is a close drive or train ride away, offers a variety of fun ocean activities through local businesses and activity centers perfect for a day out in nature and the sun. Activities include seal island ferries, scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, shark cage diving, shopping, and eating.
