Rijke Rust is located in the Sandbaai neighborhood in the "old" part of town. Sandbaai is a distinct, quaint coastal pocket known for its "old-world" charm and proximity to the lagoon.  It is the historic heart of town and is significantly quieter than the central tourist hub, but close enough to walk to the wide , bustling main beach. Sandbaai is the primary spot for launching yachts and Hobie cats. You will often see colorful boats moored just offshore.  It is a magical spot to watch professional kitesurfers and foilers perfecting their skills. It feels like a small village, with many "front-row" houses sitting right on the high-water mark. This bay is ideal for families with kids learning how to stand-up paddle or canoe. Denlyn Park is a minutes walk from Rijke Rust and is a lovely well kept childrens park. An old style farmers market is held in the park every last Saturday of the month.
