Trogon House offers treetop accommodations in the Tsitsikamma Forest, a 15-minute drive from the beaches of Plattenberg Bay. It features a lounge with antique furniture and stone fireplace, a pool with a wooden deck and a spa. All of the rooms include a flat-screen satellite TV and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the surrounding indigenous forest. Some have a private furnished balcony or a spacious lounge. A daily continental or cooked breakfast is served in the Palazzo Dining Suite and 3-course dinners can be arranged upon request. Drinks can be ordered at the bar and enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the pool. The Forest Spa includes a hot tub and sauna. Various natural treatments and massages can be enjoyed while relaxing with an outlook on the forest. On the Garden Route, Trogon House and Forest Spa is a 20-minute drive from Nature’s Valley. Birds of Eden bird sanctuary is within 2 minutes of the property by car.

The staff at Trogon House are a dedicated and passionate team that truly make the property what it is; from their smiles to their consistent service. There is a great diversity of personalities: Marco, Wonderful, Harry and Brenda are very outgoing characters and are passionate about offering quality service. Bruce, who heads up our kitchen team, has natural talent and love for preparing exceptional food for all our guests, and is dedicated to ensuring smooth day-to-day runnings. Mac, our go-to guy; who also happens to be Bruce’s uncle – is master of all repairs and maintenance. Yvonne, works tirelessly to ensure our linen is clean and ready for all arrivals. Carol is always on hand to make your stay smooth and well planned, and is very enthusiastic about adding her expertise to Trogon House. Mynhardt; Lodge Proprietor, who conceived and created Trogon House, is devoted not only to his incredible team but the overall distinctiveness of what Trogon House & Forest Spa has to offer.
Due to the wild forest environment of Trogon House: Cellphone reception is good, weather permitting and wifi is available in public areas but may be slow in bad weather. We offer an evening meal to our guests who prefer not to drive out at night, but we are a luxury B&B, not a hotel. so even though we have 24 hour staff on site, we do not have a 24 hour reception and such other services expected of a hotel. However we do have delicious snack, lunch and dinner platters available for enjoyment in the spa or on the pool deck.
